insurance operations, and management consulting.
Roel founded Global Stock Lending in 2004 and
has focused almost exclusively on developing
liquidity solutions for high net-worth individuals
and institutions. Roel is the Director of

In 2001, Roel founded Commonwealth Capital Partners and has focused on
serving high growth companies raise start-up and expansion capital.
From 1997 until 2001, Roel was a Principal at Mercer Consulting specializing in
human capital strategy, strategic planning, and employee benefits.
From 1991 to 1997 Roel was a Managing Consultant at A. Foster Higgins & Co
and a national expert on Managed Health Care plan design and financing.
From 1983 until 1991, Roel worked for John Hancock Insurance Company as a
group insurance consultant leading the company’s financial, claims and data
systems development projects.
Roel received a B.A. Degree in Computer Science and Economics from Denison
University in 1984. Roel is a licensed insurance agent, a fellow of the Life
Management Institute (FLMI) and a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS).
In 2001, the Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce and the Philadelphia Business
Counsel for the Arts honored Roel as the Business Volunteer of the Year for his
work in helping a local museum with strategic planning.
Roel is also a competitive one-design sailor and accomplished ocean racer. The
pictures on the site are of the boat he and his father race up and down the east
coast.
